Microsoft’s Office 365
During our initial meeting we asked why the client hadn’t simply signed up for Microsoft’s Office 365 service – and they replied that they had tried it and been very disappointed by the poor service and support they received. They wanted to know that – when things went wrong – they would get instant support from people who knew them, cared about them and would move heaven and earth to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Microsoft did not – in their experience – provide that level of service.
“Private cloud” facility
We have now been providing this client with secure hosted email from our “private cloud” facility for over five years, whilst their business has quadrupled in size. We supply all of their laptops – which we encrypt with whole-disk encryption software in order to protect the sensitive data they take with them when they travel all over the world – and we manage all of their mobile devices remotely (including iPads, Macs and iPhones). Because of concerns we raised with their use of Dropbox for confidential information, we also chose and deployed a private cloud file-sharing platform that gives them the same simple, cross-platform access to confidential data, but in a far more secure manner.
